Let It Go!!
Job chapter 5 gives us a powerful lesson on the importance of letting go of things that we are holding grudges about. In fact some of those things that we go through are a direct testament of these emotions that we let into our spirits. Job 5 teaches about the affects that resentment and hatred or in a more general sense having an unforgiving spirit will lead to anger and foolish ways. This as a result will have an affect on many areas of our lives.
Once we enter into that stage, we become engulfed with everything that person does and sometimes even become enraged. By holding onto these emotions in our spirits towards someone who have done us wrong, we are condemning our house and hindering our blessings. Our energy is spent despising that person as oppose to it being properly channeled in the areas that we need it to be.
Job 5:4 tries to explain this affect to us by letting us know that the unforgiving spirit that we are harboring which leads to foolish ways transcends not only into our lives but our children's lives.
"His children are far from safety, and they are crushed in the gate, neither is there any to deliver them"---Job 5:4
Job 5 further down reaches out to our understanding for it to acknowledge that by having an unforgiving spirit in us will negate all of the time spent sowing our seeds and will put our harvest at risk. Anything that is aligned with God is protected by God; however; God will not bless that which is not aligned with Him.
"The hungry consume his harvest, taking it even from among thorns, and the thirsty pant after his wealth."---Job 5:5
By having that unforgiving spirit dwelling in us will take us out of line with God, because we our allowing our actions, emotions, and thoughts to be controlled by our flesh and not our spirit. This is a recipe for disaster because now we are finding ourselves trying to find something or some way to get back at them to fulfill some type of validation or payback. God will not allow His representatives of the Kingdom operate in that type of manner. While we try to come up of those crafty schemes to get back at that particular persons; God will not allow it. So the best thing for us, if we are holding onto any unforgiving emotions we must release that, repent and get back in alignment with God.
"12) He thwarts the plans of the crafty, so that their hands achieve no success.13) He catches the wise in their craftiness, and the schemes of the wily are swept away."—Job 5:12-13
While at times we are believing that the reason we are having affliction and troubles enter into our lives is because of the enem. Some of the time the reason we are going through things and not seeing the manifestation of the blessings God has promised to us, is our own doing; steming from harboring unforgiveness.
"6) For hardship does not spring from the soil, nor does trouble sprout from the ground. 7) Yet man is born to trouble as surely as sparks fly upward. " –Job 5:6-7
As we walk with God, there is a battle that going on, there will be trouble that hit our lives. However; as children of God we have the victory; we have keep that in focus and not forfeit the battle under our own doing. Sure the enemy will send people our way and their assignment is to get our spirit out of alignment with God by trapping our spirit in an unforgiving state. We have power over the enemy; we do not have to stay in that unforgiving state, if we do stay it is only by choice.
A lot of us try to validate being angry with the Word of God by quoting that the bible says to us "Be angry, but sin not". True enough the bible does say that, but we in a sad attempt of validation the last part of that scripture: "Do not let the sun go down upon your warth" is omitted. The next verse says: "Neither give place to devil". So in other words when dealing with anger it MUST be followed with forgiveness, because holding on to that unforgiving and angry spirit, will leave the door cracked for the enemy to come.
"26) Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: 27) Neither give place to the devil."—Eph 4:26-27
It is important for everyone, that if we are holding any seed of unforgivness, hatred, anger, or bitterness towards anyone, that we release it, repent and get back aligned with God, there is so much that is at risk when hold on to those emotions.
Be blessed and as always BE ENCOURAGED!!
