Many people can relate to situations that arise in their lives where they feel that they are the victims of a ruthless joke. Things hit us and at times in our lives we stop and have to asked God; "Did I do something wrong? If I did, please forgive me Lord." The answer is this: sometimes we go things in our lives for the glory of God. The unexplained afflictions and troubles that enter our lives serve a divined purpose with the end result of being able to witness the goodness, mercy, and favor that God gives.

Taking a look at the story about the blind man that has an encounter with Jesus. The disciples ask Jesus a question: What is the reason that this man is blind? Was it that he sinned or was it that his mother and father sinned that he was born with this condition? Jesus responds and tells them that neither did him or his parents sinned, but he was dealing with this affliction all his life for the very purpose that the works of God will manifest in him.

"2) And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
3) Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him." ---John 9:2-3

This man has dealt with this affliction throughout his childhood and dealing with it now in adulthood. He was a beggar because he could not work or be productive due to dealing with this affliction in this season of his life. Many can relate to dealing with something similar to this situation. Something holding them back from going forward; this something could be depression, it could be finances, it could be low-self esteem or lack of confidence or it could be issues with ones health. Whatever it is we all have dealt with that something and/or still dealing with that something. The bible teaches us that there are times that will come where we will feel this way. Jesus says in John 9: 4 "night cometh, when no man can work". But I am here to encourage you in continuing to be strong and stand on the report of the Lord! The report of the Lord is this: Jesus says is "As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world".

That is a powerful statement; one to always hold on to. The man in this story was physically blind, he lived in darkness his entire life, he was in a season of waiting on Jesus. Jesus came and healed him; removed his affliction; Jesus came into his world and brought light to his dark situation. He opened his eyes to see for him to have a testimony so others can observe and profess the power of God.

The blind man spend his entire life, dealing with this affliction not knowing the reason he was in this state of being. His entire life! To my brothers and sisters when you do not understand why you are going through a certain season or situation that arises in your life that seems dark and you cannot see the light at the end. I encourage you to continue to stand strong on the report of the Lord. As long as you have Jesus in your world, He will bring light to your dark situation!

Be Blessed and as always Be Encouraged
