#SpiritChecker *Repentance brings a new spirit and heart*
In our walk with Jesus there are good times and there are trying times. There are times when we feel on fire for Jesus and then there are times where we become stagnate and lost our fire. There is a reason why we find ourselves losing that fire in spirit that we were known to have: At some point we allow something not of God to enter into our spirit. This “something” takes on many faces but right now, let’s focus on one: Lack of repentance.
Our offenses and our transgressions towards others which we do not acknowledge or refuse to make a mends will extinguish our spiritual fire. By being a child of God, once we step out of line in dealing with others we will feel conviction from the Holy Spirit. That situation that episode weighs heavily on our shoulders and in our hearts.
We all are guilty of offending someone whether intentionally or unintentionally but the true character of a kingdom citizen is that once it is acknowledge is to apologize and to repent for the offense that has taken place. Sometimes we have to go back to the same person we have just offended, show humility, and apologize; this is where a lot of us fall of the train. Understand that sometimes the spirit will not let us rest with a private repentance, sometimes we have to be broken even more, and pride has to broken. Whichever way, private or publically, being sensitive to the Holy Spirit, the spirit will guide us and instruct us on the means of repentance. Through repentance comes a new spirit and heart, in other words this will rekindle that fire that was lost in the spirit. The bible says in Ezekiel 18:31: “Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit…”
Let’s get back in line with God, if this is your “something” that has caused you to lose your spiritual fire: Repent, rid yourself from any offenses you have committed and receive a new heart and spirit.
