Where is Your Joy?

Grace and Peace Readers: Today we have a featured writer that has blessed us with a very powerful and encouraging word. The title of it once again is "Where is Your Joy?" Immediately following the post is a short bio of the author, please read it and visit their websites. God Bless you all and be blessed.

Where is Your Joy?

Nehemiah 8:10 says” Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

I would like us to focus on the word Joy here for a moment. Joy is something that can not be purchased nor can we earn it, we can’t find it in possessions. Although many people have surely tried to, but the Joy I am talking about is when the Lord gives you His joy you have strength to overcome the impossible in your life.

His Joy that He gives us is way beyond our imagination, it’s so radiant that others will see it and know that is the Lord who has blessed you. This morning I went to my doctor’s appointment and there was a young lady who I haven’t seen in over a two years. We talked and she asked me she said “you are surely glowing” and I said thank you so much she said God has blessed you haven’t He? My reply was yes the Lord has been blessing me. She knew that the blessing I was talking about was not possessions and status but she knew God had bless me with spiritual blessings.

Only God can give us joy like this our circumstances in life does not tell us or direct us in how we should look and act, if we have joy down on the inside of us no matter what our struggles may be it doesn’t take our joy away. Never let the blessing of God’s joy stay hidden just because you are facing something.

So often people think that because you are a Christian and while you are suffering you are to walk around with your head in the sand, no the devil is a liar. Don’t let him or anything keep you from walking in perfect peace with God. None of us are exempt from troubles in life, but just because you got troubles you still have joy, remember that!

  1. Thank you for doing this out of the kindness of your heart.

  2. You're right, joy is a choice... we can choose to see the joy even if we're in the midst of trials because our hope is in Him and because He is with us through whatever we are experiencing. Joy is His gift to us, ours for the taking... we just have to dwell on life from His perspective! Great post Desiray :)

  3. Wonderful post Desiray. Whether we're enjoying obvious Blessings in our lives, or going through a time of trial it's important to always let the Light of Christ shine through us so all can see.
