The W-2 of Faith

As the first month of the new year is almost over for a lot of people this means one thing...tax time. People, mostly with secular jobs, are stalking their payroll department for the their W-2's so that they can file their taxes in hopes of a income tax refund. In fact, some people do not even wait for their W-2 they take their last pay stub of the year and head to their nearest tax agency. The main thing that a W-2 shows is your earnings for the previous year, for the spiritual folks, it shows how much fruit was beared during a period of time. From the gross amount or the sum of fruit beared, it shows which tax bracket that you fall in. For the sake of this topic lets identify these tax brackets as low class, middle class, high class, and the 1%.

[18] Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. [19] Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. [20] But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? James 2:18-20

The question on the table is this: What would the W-2 of your faith report? What class would the productiveness of your faith be in? Low class faith, middle class faith, high class faith, or the upper 1% of faith. Even faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains and each person is given a measure of faith. The scripture in James 2, teaches us that the faith that we have should produce results and that faith without results is dead faith. In other words when faith is consider dead it means it it is ineffective or unproductive and how can we show people how good our God is that they will ask "what must I do to be saved and know your God?" if we have ineffective or unproductive results.

To my readers: I challenge each of you to pull your faith's W-2, see where you stood for 2013 and then make up in your mind and your spirit that will trust God more in 2014. Set your goals for 2014 of what you want to accomplish by faith in 2014. Set your faith goals high because goals that you see doable in your own strength and knowledge is not big enough.  Stretch your faith to a point where you have to depend solely on God!! Soon you will realize that there is nobody better to depend on than God!!

Be blessed, be encouraged, and remember the Reflection of Change is Within You!!!
