What's On Your Mind? by Chancee Christian

You ever seen parents who their child on that little leash thing or maybe you are one of those parents.....

See, those parents desire to keep their children under close surveillance or maybe they do so because they cannot control them as they would like to..... Whatever the case is, they understand that not letting them go too far is the best way to help them not to get out of control or if we put it in our perspective, out of God's Will.....

For a while I didn't think that I could have control over my mind, my ideas, my thoughts or anything that ran through my head.....I just thought that's how is was, your mind wanders, that's just what it does.....Yea, so I was wrong....

If we don't control our own thoughts, it can lead us down a terrible path..... it can lead you to commit adultery, suicide, to murder, depression, self-hate, living a reckless lifestyle, being a side chick, straying away from God & so forth...because many of those begin with one tiny idea or thought in the mind & if you don't actually recognize it..... it grows and it travels!!!

In God's Word it clearly tells us in Proverbs 23:7a "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he......"

Now, of course we can't think with our hearts, but what it's really saying is what we think can get into our hearts and once those things get into our hearts it can then come out of our mouths & transform the world around us & with just one thought a whole marriage can be destroyed, an entire family can be torn apart, your relationship with God can dissolve, your children can become adults with psychological issues.....it goes deep!

In Romans 12:2 it tells us not to be conformed to this world but to be consistently renewed in our minds & in our thoughts, it's so easy to get distracted in this world today...we have the news, Facebook, SnapChat, Instagram, Twitter, TV and LIFE! Life can be a distraction by itself!! Yet, we sign up for social media to assist us in getting even more distracted!

Looking at all everything going on in the world can cause our thoughts to become ungodly or even simply unsatisfied with our own lives, but we need not to be conformed thinking that what God has blessed us with isn't enough or right, because we are allowing those things to plant seeds our mind instead of remembering that everything that glitters isn't gold & that God is the center of it ALL & He won't withhold anything that's good from those who love Him!!

So, my challenge to you is to start thinking about God, focusing on Him day in and day out as it states in Isaiah 26:3 because it will keep you in perfect peace & jealousy, resentment, hatred, depression and anxiety won't take a hold of your life!

Let's go as far as meditating daily on:

Philippians 4:8
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

If it doesn't line up with the Word of God.....Kick it out!!! Delete it from your thoughts, Say No!! Anything else outside of the Word of God is considered a lie....so study your Word so that you can identify the lies that creep into your mind & then you will be able to filter it OUT!

God bless you all!
